ATOM ARCH HOMES: Sustainable, Strong, and Surprisingly Affordable
ATOM HOUSE is proud to introduce ATOM ARCH HOMES—a new series of sustainable, high-performance buildings inspired by ancient design and engineered for modern life. Based on the design philosophy of our chief architect Jacob Reiner—"modern comforts, ancient wisdom"—these structures reflect humanity’s oldest instincts for shelter while meeting today’s urgent need for affordability, resilience, and environmental responsibility.

At the core of this design is the arch—a shape that dates back to the first human-made shelters. From early Neolithic caves to the monumental Roman aqueducts, to the concrete undersea tubes that connect continents today, the arch has proven to be one of the strongest and most versatile structures ever developed. The ATOM ARCH brings this ancient form into the 21st century: elegant, protective, and rooted in the fundamental purpose of architecture—to create a safe, nurturing shell for human life. Think of it as a modern-day egg shell, resilient and life-supporting.

The ATOM ARCH HOME began with the first prototype build—the Eden Grow Home—on the rugged, high slopes of Mt. Fuji. With a hand-bent steel arch frame, crafted by Jacob Reiner and his team during the steel arches were driven one meter into the ground, anchoring them securely and allowing the structure to withstand Category 5+ hurricanes and major earthquakes. In fact, the ATOM ARCH is engineered and approved in Japan, one of the world’s most demanding environments for seismic and structural safety. The pre-manufactured frames undergo strict quality control and stress testing and are estimated to withstand any level of seismic activity on the Richter scale.

These homes are super-insulated, naturally lit, and fitted with multi-pane windows that optimize thermal performance and light gain. You can integrate off-grid solar and wind power, battery storage, rainwater harvesting, passive solar heating and cooling, and even indoor growing systems. With these features, the ATOM ARCH can maintain comfortable year-round temperatures while operating at near-zero energy costs. It’s a fully modern "above-ground bunker"—your Fam Cave for the future.

How to Own an ATOM ARCH
ATOM ARCH HOMES are available globally through a range of flexible options:

Why the Arch?
The arch is more than a design choice—it’s an ancient technology perfected by time. One of the oldest known examples, the Arkadiko Bridge in Greece (circa 1300 BCE), still stands today. The Roman Empire brought the arch to its full potential, creating bridges and aqueducts that continue to function thousands of years later. This shape distributes weight evenly, resists environmental pressure, and is often referred to as nature’s strongest form. It’s no accident that eggs, shells, and many biological structures take this form—it is the natural answer to the challenge of protection and strength.

A History of Innovation
ATOM HOUSE emerged from the larger Earth Embassy initiative, a sustainable development and eco-design organization with roots in Japan, Uganda, and the USA. Jacob Reiner began experimenting with modern eco-building techniques over a decade ago, prototyping on challenging terrain and developing systems that balance low cost, high strength, and ecological harmony. This led to the creation of the Eden Grow Home, and eventually, the ATOM ARCH system. Working with Japanese foresters and mills, ATOM sources sustainably harvested cedar and other local materials to ensure each build supports regional economies and environmental health.
More Than a Home: A Whole Ecosystem
ATOM ARCH is the cornerstone of a broader design ecosystem. It is used extensively in the ATOM FARM series—such as our Shroomzilla mushroom factories, Strawberry Cube greenhouses, and Wasabi House growing systems. It also forms the structure of our ATOM FACTORY modules, used for clean food production and light manufacturing. All of these components are designed to plug into one another, allowing clients to build entire self-sufficient ATOM VILLAGES—mixing residences, farm units, and shared utilities into cohesive, sustainable developments.
ATOM ARCH is for those seeking more than shelter. It's for those building a future—one that respects the past, honors nature, and provides the comforts of modern life without compromise.
