To meet the need of the town of Lake Yamanakako for a formal entrance to the village while showcasing the natural beauty of the lake region, we designed this multi-purpose visitor center and Mt Fuji viewing area with a fresh water fish aquarium, shops for local business fronts, and a much needed bus station and reception area.
The project was done in collaboration with local government, builders and forestry groups to design and build a vertical log structure with sustainably harvested lumber from local sources.
