The main focus of our research and development is prototyping and testing compact CEA growing systems using hydroponic root feeding systems and increasing the growth capacity in limited spaces.

Mushroom Production

 

Our main partner in mushroom development is FUJISHUKIN, a family run company specializing in spore development and mycellium growing since 1982.

In addition to the main spore lab in Yamanashi, they have 8 mushroom mycellium production facilities with local partners across Japan, India and Nepal and are leaders in innovative hardy varieties tailored to specific climates.   Their lab is staffed with an international team of PhD researchers and they hold and maintain large sustainable forests for oak chip production.

 

Their team provide the detailed technical knowledge to fine tune our environmental controls and growth cycles;  and provide engineering support, ongoing training and remote monitoring as we expand sporing labs and block production system in the US and other regions.

Container Mushrooms - Proof of Tech

There are currently 25 of the 40' container units producing mushrooms in Japan.  They are operated in a share holder arrangement with investors in NIHON KIKURAGE buying containers at around $75,000 each.  Company performs operations and sales, and profit sharing on annual net around $60,000 per container.

ATOMCORE

Cloud based monitor and control

 

The ATOMCORE allows easy automation of light, water and feeding cycles by smart phone, tablet or PC. 

The core monitors plant growth for optimal conditions; temperature, humidity, UV light, EC, CO2., O2, etc.  Big data is analyzed to share and improve techniques across entire user platform with eventual assistance of AI and deep learning servers.

Provisional Patent Filing - Patent Pending

A provisional application for patent (provisional application) is a U.S. national application filed in the USPTO under 35 U.S.C. §111(b). A provisional application is not required to have a formal patent claim or an oath or declaration. Provisional applications also should not include any information disclosure (prior art) statement since provisional applications are not examined. A provisional application provides the means to establish an early effective filing date in a later filed nonprovisional patent application filed under 35 U.S.C. §111(a). It also allows the term "Patent Pending" to be applied in connection with the description of the invention.

Sensor Technology

We are working with sensor platform development company Plantio who provide the sensors and big data platform, wrapped around an interesting community " shared farming" model with rental rooftops around Tokyo.

University Partnerships

Fruit Lab @ Mt Fuji

We are growing and developing our compact planter systems for fruit trees, berries and grape vines at our farm and indoor lab in Narusawa Village at the base of Mt Fuji. 

 

Our strawberry, peach and lemon systems are producing well and ready for market.  Currently we are working on refining the grape vine system and working with some of the top vineyard growers in the Yamanashi wine producing regions.
