Herb Drying Room

Angela and Christian put the final touches on our Herb Drying Room, built from a recycled grain silo and some windows we removed from one of the Shojiko House reforms. Many thanks to Angie and Chris for all their hard work and getting our farm ready for the 2011 harvest.

Dylan’s Front Yard Farms

Dylan Liccopoli, who interned at the Earth Embassy farm in 2008 & 2011, is back in North Port, New York and has parlayed his experience on our farm into a successful small business, HOGS, Home Organic Farming Service. He is building Front Yard Farms for suburban Long Island families, complete with raised beds, organic soil, and full planting, training and maintenance services. Good work Dylan. Look forward to seeing your gardens grow and grow.

Independant Film

Dave and his crew from Canada were at the Embassy filming a small independent film about a young backpacker coming of age in the Great North. We had a lot of fun filming in the tipi for two days and providing catering for the team. Look forward to seeing the film. Sundance or Bust!

有機JAS講習会
地球大使館はオーガニック農業認定ワークショップイベントを8月20日と9月17日に開催します。
有機JASの認定を受けるために必要な、農業手法や輸入などを学べます。
講師は、ジェイコブ・ライナー氏に加え、Ecocert-QAI JAPAN.より農業検査官も登場します。
ジェイコブ氏は、農地の取得有機の技術を説明します。
農業検査官は、有機農業認定のステップを説明します。(応募から認定までの手順)
ワークショップは、ソーラーカフェでのランチやフジミントティーの農業ワークショップも含みます

The EarthEmbassy will be hosting an Organic Farm Certification Workshop on Aug 20 and Sept 17 for people interested in learning how to get JAS organic certification for farming and food importing.  The class will be led by Jacob Reiner and assisted by agricultural inspectors from Ecocert-QAI Japan Ltd. http://ecocert.qai.jp/. Jacob will discuss obtaining land, starting farms and organic techniques, and the Ecocert team will cover the organic certification process: applying for certification, the inspection and corrections process.   The day will include a tour of the Solar Cafe & Mt Fuji Mint Tea farms and field activity.  Lunch is included.
